We would like to take this opportunity to first say we breed our Labrador pups according to the Labrador Retriever Standard (as approved by the American Kennel Club in the United States). R&B Labs of Chemung are proud members of the American Kennel Club (AKC) and we fully adhere to their strict guidelines for breeding purebred dogs. Our commitment to ethical breeding practices has earned us a reputation as one of the most trusted breeders of purebred Labrador Retrievers in the region, with some of our customers traveling many states to obtain their puppy!
Our goal, since day one, has always been to provide our clients with an additional family member that will bring a lifetime of love and joy into your home. Our dams and sires possess great temperaments and we're sure their offspring will make wonderful pets! We also believe in responsible pet ownership, and make sure our puppies have reached social maturity before separating them from their mother and litter-siblings. Additionally, it is very important for us to maintain communications with our puppy buyers long after the sale is completed, and we encourage them to do the same throughout their dog's lifetime. Blair and I are available anytime if you should ever require additional advice or assistance with your pup.
The Story of R&B Labradors
Our Journey: From How We Started to Where We Are Now
The beginning visions of R & B’s Labs started in mid July 2011 when we purchased our Botar. We had Labradors before him, but we were not really set up for any serious breeding facilities. Bringing “Bo” home started us thinking about having litters down the road. With the addition of Brandi in November of 2011 we set the groundwork for the “Bo & Brandi’s Way” which was the prelude to what has grown to be R & B’s Labradors of Chemung.
Bo and Brandi’s 1st litter in March of 2013 produced 8 beautiful pups and one of our granddaughters thought we should keep “Diamond”. We gave her to our granddaughters, but eventually returned to live with us. She became ill and crossed the Rainbow Bridge when she was only 5 years old. Diamond was a great addition to our Lab family and has been sorely missed by all of us whose heart she touched.
November 2015 saw DuPont (“Duey”) join our crew. Our “Gentle Giant” is the activist and instigator. He is loved by all and has given us lots of reasons to smile.
In February of 2016 we obtained “Layla” who is one of the sweetest chocolate lab females that has ever existed. She was very laid back and very shy and was not keen on the other dogs that shared our home with her especially her suitors… (Bo and/or Duey) She wanted no part of the mating process and adamantly let the boys know that.
March of 2017 brought us “Missy”. This sweet yellow gal was born to lick and provide us with daily good or bad events. There is never a dull moment with Missy in our fold.
January of 2019 blessed us with a descendent of our beloved Diamond. We named her “ABBY”. She is almost a carbon copy of her grandmother and every bit as lovable.
