Botar is our canine, "Man of the House." An 8-year-old yellow English-American Labrador retriever, Bo's devotion and loyalty to us hold no boundaries. He is our shadow from sun up to sundown. He completely adores his mommy, Roe, and sleeps right outside our bedroom door every single night. As soon as Roe wakes up in the morning to start her day, Bo pretty much stays by her side for the remainder of it.

While Bo's running after the 4-wheeler days has wound down a bit due to his age, he can still sprint when the mood strikes. He has always enjoyed going down to the creek, but only to the extent of getting his feet wet. He is a strong swimmer, but swimming is not one of his favorite activities.

As Bo matures further into senior life, he doesn't seem as excited as he once was about the younger dogs' playfulness and, in true "Grumpy Old Man" fashion, let's them know when he doesn't want to be bothered. Still, he remains our chief greeter whenever someone arrives for a visit and always makes sure to bring a shoe, a slipper, or a boot to our guest as a token of friendship.
